Walk along the Garonne (holding hands)
The river is an essential presence in this thermal, flawlessly preserved city. The mansions of the golden age of pastel trade are part of the identity. Just like the Saint-Sernin Basílica, one of the greatest romanesque churches in Europe, and the majestic Capitole, both city hall and theatre building.
Have fun in Saint-Georges square
With rich historical legacies, Toulouse is also a university city full of cultural activities and nightlife. Shopping is a must in the streets d’Alsace-Lorraine, Saint-Rome and des Arts. And before heading to one of the golf courts of the region, it is mandatory to taste the cassoulet, a typical stew.

Geography & politics
France is located in Western Europe and is part of the European Union. It is a semi-presidential democratic republic.
Tipping & paying
Most places accept credit card payments, but it is always useful to have some money with you. France is part of the Eurozone, so the currency is the Euro (EUR). It is not common to tip in restaurants, as the bill already has a service charge added to the total.
Languages & useful phrases
French is the official language. In French: "Bonjour" = hello; "S’il vous plaît" = please; "Merci beaucoup" = thank you very much.
What you should do
Learn a few phrases in French. The French are very proud of their culture and like it when those who visit their country make an effort to learn their language.
What you shouldn’t do
Do not talk to someone using the informal "tu" if the expected is the formal "vous". Depending on the context and how well you know someone, always use "vous" if you’re not sure, as a sign of respect. Use "tu" with friends or family.
What to wear
Fashion and looks are considered very important and can help to make a great first impression. Go for a formal and neat style, with good taste. Accessories also count—as well as shoes!
When meeting someone for the first time, greet them with a handshake. When meeting up with friends, it’s normal to give two kisses on the cheeks, except between men.
